We will be collecting comfort toys for Pediatric Patients (infants to 6 Yrs) visiting the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Lakewood Ranch. New toys should be small toys that could comfort or entertain a child such as: fluffy stuffed animals, early childhood books, wooden shapes toddler puzzles, teething rings, early childhood learning toys. Toys need not be expensive and they will be given to the child during their stay to help ease anxiety and then to take home. Our goal is to provide 400 little toys to our ER. The following amazon link or QR Code can be used to get ideas as to what could be provided, or you could purchase any of these suggested toys (or others) directly on Amazon as well. When purchasing from Amazon, eliminate the need to deliver toys to drop off sites by shipping purchases directly to: Cinda Krouk, 16921 Clearlake Ave, Lakewood Ranch, Florida 34202

Drive Collection Locations:

Toys can be dropped off at either of 2 collection sites in Lake Club. Collection bins will be located on the front porch of both the Krouk residence at: 16921 Clearlake Ave (Genoa ) and the Olsen residence at: 16112 Foremast Place (the Vineyards) Please do not drop toys off at the ER.

Donation Distribution:

Our donations will be delivered directly to the SMH ER on 4/23 at 10AM. All members are invited to help deliver the toys to the ER. Toy Pick up will commence from 16921 Clearlake Drive at 9:30 AM. After we deliver the Comfort Toys, the Emergency Room Staff will take us on a tour of the facility. Please consider helping transport toys to a very grateful ER. Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation has been helping ensure our community has high quality, accessible healthcare as the philanthropic partner to Sarasota Memorial Health System. In 2025 Sarasota Memorial Hospital opened a state of the art Emergency Room for Lakewood Ranch at 7250 University Parkway, Sarasota Florida. This 21 treatment room ER provides life saving emergency services by Sarasota Memorial’s board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians, as well as physician ordered radiology and laboratory services,, including x-rays, CT scans, blood draws and lab tests. In an effort to better serve our community’s families and children the SMHCF has asked us to help them provide comfort toys to young children as they receive physcian driven emergency care.
