Fundraising

The fundraising committee is an Ad hoc responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of fundraising opportunities that includes sponsorships and funds to support grants as needed. The goal of the committee is to find, create and host events that are effective fundraisers specific to each event or gathering. The committee determines operations, logistics, timelines, engaging vendors, donors and sponsors, coordinating volunteers, selling tickets, maintaining records and requires support from the finance, social media and communication committees for marketing plans, and others as needed for such events. The budget is built by the fundraising committee with input from its members and from other committee chairs, while determining incoming goals with the intention to raise sufficient funds to meet our mission.

Grants

The grants committee is responsible for assessing the amount available to grant annually. Distribution of grant applications are made to potential grant applicants. Evaluation of completed grant applications are then performed annually to determine if the applicant meets the mission of the circle as well as the grant award criteria, this process can include visiting applicant locations, meeting with applicant representatives, reviewing applicant materials and taking such other actions that the grant committee believes is necessary or helpful in its assessment of applicants. The committee then makes recommendations to our members. Upon completion of the selection of grant recipients and following distribution of grants, the committee plans for regular evaluation of impact by grantees and analyzes benchmarks and objectives for their programs.

Service and Outreach

The Service and Outreach Committee is our membership’s volunteer arm that aims to provide meaningful hands on service experiences through our local nonprofit organizations that align with our Giving Circle’s mission. The Committee conducts both  collection drives that provide goods to local nonprofits in order to the fill the specific needs of their underserved, and partnerships with our Grant Recipients as they provide tours and educational experiences to help our members better understand their missions and goals. Members of the committee are always looking for suggestions of local non-profits in need of our helping hands and hearts. Members are encouraged to join in any or all of these opportunities and be inspired!
