Packing Produce Bags for Meals on Wheels

16 volunteers from the Giving Circle attended this event. Providing a total of 28.00 service hours to Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, Inc.
Fun Fact:
16 members attended the service event and 12 went on to Brunch at The Breakfast Company, 12 Oaks Plaza, Bradenton. Members packed 100% (420)of the needed produce bags for immediate delivery to various Meals on Wheels delivery sites, and in doing so they walked 19,744 steps. After packing the produce, the folks at meals on Wheels gave us a tour of the campus and explained all of the dedicated services that they provide. Founded in 1972, Meals on Wheels Plus, in partnership with the Food Bank of Manatee County is committed to the promise that no one will go hungry in Manatee County, serving over 300,000 meals annually. They serve the county with take home food drop off at Title 1 schools, parks in food insecure areas, their Daybreak adult day care center, their Friendship Dining Centers, and the very important personal home meal delivery. service.
