Collective Giving in Action: How TLC Members Helped Feed 1,656 Children in One Day
Nineteen members of the TLC Women’s Giving Circle, joined by three supportive spouses, recently came together for a hands-on service day at Feeding Empty Little Tummies, helping to prepare weekend food bags for local children facing food insecurity.
In just one session, our team assembled 1,656 bags of food, each packed discreetly and sent home with a child on Fridays to ensure nourishment over the weekend. Every TLC volunteer filled 20 bags, taking approximately 650 steps per bag—adding up to more than 13,000 steps taken collectively in service.
By day’s end, the TLC team was responsible for 25% of all bags prepared, a powerful example of what happens when collective giving meets hands-on outreach.
A heartfelt thank you to our member Gari Palmer for organizing and overseeing this impactful service day. Her leadership made it possible for our members to show up, serve together, and create meaningful, lasting impact for children in our community.
