SUMMARY:Group Service Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County offers children and teens proven afterscool and summer programs focused on academic success\, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship.  \n\n\n\nService request: Participate in a national “Remake Learning Day” at the Palmetto location\, the event is free and activities are designed to be hands-on\, relevant\, and engaging experiences for youth of all ages and their families! \n\n\n\nThe activities we will be working on are \n\n\n\nCup tower – STEM challenge – seeing which family or child can build the tallest tower\, measure it and record the height.  \n\n\n\nPaper chain – STEM challenge – each family gets a pair of scissors\, one piece of construction paper\, and a piece of tape measuring 12 inches. They are challenged to create the longest chain they can\, using ONLY the materials given.  \n\n\n\nSelf-inflating balloon experiment – Each family will be given a water bottle\, with a small amount of vinegar in it\, and a balloon\, with a small amount of baking soda in it.
